WOAH Reference laboratory for Newcastle disease
Designated as WOAH Reference Laboratory for Newcastle Disease at 78th WOAH general session in May, 2010.
Key Responsibility
- Expert consutltants at the disposal of the World Organization for Animal Health(WOAH)
- Provision of diagnostic testing facilities to Member Countries and expert consultants to Newcastle disease control
- Development and distribution to national laboratories biological reference products and any other reagents used in the diagnosis
- Research collaboration on Newcastle disease with national institutions
- Development of procedures for diagnosis and control of Newcastle disease
- Provision of epizootiological data relevant to the epidemiology on Newcastle disease
- Publication and dissemination of any information on Newcastle disease in their sphere of competence which may be useful to Member Countries of the Office
- Provision of scientific and technical training for personnel from Member Countries of the Office
