THE BACKGROUND OF ANIMAL PROTECTION ACT FULL AMENDMENT
- The Animal Protection Act has been amended in response to suggestions from animal rights groups since it was enacted in 1991.
- The first full amendment to the Animal Protection Act was announced in Sep. 2002, but its joint amendment was not made until Oct. 2005 due to differences between the animal rights groups and the government. On Jan. 26, 2007, the first full revision of the Animal Protection Act took place after the National Assembly passed the plenary session on Dec. 22, 2006.
- The second full revision was proclaimed on Aug. 4, 2011 and current Act has made through five times of a partial revision.
